All the 16 teams that have qualified for the 2023/24 CAF Champions League group stage are guaranteed shs. 2.61 billion.

That is equivalent to the US$700,000 that CAF will give to the eight clubs that will finish third and fourth in their respective groups and fail to progress to the quarterfinals.

The draws for the group stages for this year’s tournament will be held on Friday 6th, October in Johannesburg, South Africa.

For those that will progress to the round of eight, an additional US$ 200,000 will be topped up to make it US$900,000 (Shs.3.4 billion) if they stop there.

The teams that will reach the semifinal will be entitled to a package not less than US$1.2 million (Shs. 4.5 billion) and an additional bonus of US$800,000 if they reach the final.

The champions of this year’s edition will part with US$4 million (shs.15 billion) as prize money.

The prize money for the champions has risen four-fold from 2008 when Egyptian giants AL Ahly won their sixth title.

It was increased to the current rate last year from US$2.5 million, which was awarded from 2017 to 2022.

Losing semi-finalists - $1.2M

Losing quarter-finalists - $900,000

3rd and 4th in Group Stage - $700,000

2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup prize money;

Winner – US$2M

Losing finalist - $1M

Losing semi-finalists - $750,000

Losing quarter-finalists - $550,000

3rd and 4th in Group Stage - $400,000
