The Brewers are keen to add Bandi to their ranks to help improve their defence.

AFC Leopards' right-back Lewis Bandi has reportedly emerged on the radar of 12-time Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) champions Tusker FC.

The 20-year-old has been proving to be one of the best right-backs in the country since earning a promotion from the club's junior team.

Bandi has also been linked with a move to Tanzanian side Ihefu FC due to his performances at the Ingwe's backline.

Tusker head coach Robert Matano was interested in bringing Bandi to Ruaraka back in the mid-season transfer window but the move failed to materialize.

A composed defender with impressive passing range and also good on the tackle, Bandi has formed a good partnership with Kayci Odhimabo, Washington Munene, and Peter Thiong'o.

However, it seems the player has had enough of his time in Leopards as the club coach Patrick Aussems has revealed the player has not contacted the club since the FKF Cup semi-final against Kakamega Homeboyz.

"I have not had any news of him since last week; I don't know where he is," Aussems stated.

If signed at Tusker, Bandi will be expected to provide competition to Daniel Sakari and will likely trigger the departure of Jimmy Mbugua from Tusker.

Bandi signed his first senior contract in October 2020 and is set to become a free agent in the coming days, ending a three-year journey with the senior side.

The youngster joined the youth ranks of AFC Leopards in 2015 while he was still schooling at Dagoretti High School and was immediately loaned to Makadara's Hakati Sportif.

Bandi was one of the best players that emerged from the second edition of Chapa Dimba na Safaricom and traveled with the tourney's All-Stars team to Spain for a 10-day football camp in May 2019.

The defender has also been used as a defensive midfielder in a number of games for AFC Leopards especially last season when the club had a number of injuries.
