SC Villa out of their shadows - Shafic Kiyaga

As the season reaches its climax, SC Villa finds themselves at the forefront of the title race, sending shockwaves through the league.

Their journey in the Uganda Premier League this season is nothing short of remarkable.

Despite not being given a fair chance at the start of the campaign, they have defied all odds and emerged as serious contenders for the league title.

The fact that we all overlooked and underestimated them only adds to the significance of their rise to the forefront.

Indeed, some of the pessimism is warranted, after all they finished just five points above the drop zone last season, and their recruitment in the transfer window was no where near good enough.

Their best players this season Charles Bbaale and Patrick Kakande are novices in the top flight, and they had lost top players like Nicholas Kabonge and Gavin Kizito.

From the beginning, SC Villa went about their business quietly with determination, resilience, but I am not sure five games into the season they backed themselves to mount a challenge.

Jackson Magera has galvanized his young squad steadily working their way up the league table, proving their mettle with each passing match.

Their performances have been consistently impressive, displaying a strong team spirit and an unwavering belief in their abilities.

What makes SC Villa's rise even more commendable is their ability to overcome obstacles and setbacks.

Like many can argue that they could have been chmpions by now, had they not lost the two points over fans hooliganism, but all that will matter less if they can ultimately see out the title.

Villa dauntless - Charles Bbaale

“Our focus is on our game only, we cannot be thinking about the opponents in the race, not at this time. he job is simple; we have to win our game. I know URA will not be an easy game, but we are ready for the challenge. We know what we need to do, every player is fully aware of what is at stake, and we are all willing to give it our best shot.

SC Villa fans have enjoyed the ride, with their side rising from its ruins to mount an unexpected title challenge

What are the permutations, two hours to kick off?

Only two points separate the top three going into the final day, with Villa leading the race on 52 points, while both Vipers and KCCA are on 50 points in second and third. But that tells only half the story. Read below to understand what every challenger needs to lift the title
