Formerly at Tanzania's Young Africans SC, he has penned down a two-year employment contract with the Venoms.

After over a week of speculation, Vipers SC have appointed Brazilian native Leonard Martins Neiva, popularly known as Leo Neiva as the new head coach taking over from Alex Isabirye.

Formerly at Tanzania's Young Africans SC, he has penned down a two-year employment contract with the Venoms.

There, he won both the Super Cup (the Community Shield) and the 2014/15 Tanzania Premier League, before he left.

Despite being just 45, he has managed both at club and at national team levels, in various continents including North America, the Caribbean, South East Asia and Africa.

Neiva kickstarted his coaching career as an assistant coach at America CF in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2007.

That was before his first move to Africa at South Africa's Platinum Stars as academy coach between 2008-2009

He then returned to Brazil at Bonsucesso-RJ, before turning to the youth side of Yadanarborn FC, where he saw a number of players make the Brazilian U-20.

He was then made head coach Rakhine United between 2011-2012, in the Myanmar National League, and at 34, he was the youngest coach there.

Neiva, in 2013, returned to Brazil at Associacao Atletica Francana, before his move to Yanga in 2014, about nine years ago.

He then departed for Jamaican side Montego Bay United, winning the national championship in 2016.

In 2019, Neiva returned to Brazil at Clube Atletico Itapemirim for a year before managing the Saint Kitts and Nevis national team.

The tactician topped Group F in the first round of the CONCACAF qualifiers of the 2022 World Cup ahead of Trinidad and Tobago, in what was historical for the Island.

Between 2021 to 2022, he worked at Sudan and CECAFA region heavyweights Al-Merrikh but was sacked after just 51 days, without managing an official game.
