The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) resumes for matchday 16 on Sunday across eight centers.
Matchday 16 started on Saturday as Nasarawa United defeated Shooting Stars of Ibadan, while the game between Rivers United and Doma United has been postponed due to Rivers United's continental engagement.
With just three games to end the regular season, the battle to pick the Super Six ticket and survive relegation is at its peak.
The 2022–23 NPFL season is an abridged league with ten teams grouped in two groups as the top three qualify for the Super Six and the bottom two will be relegated to the Nigeria National League (NNL).
As all are set for the continuation of action on Matchday 16, here are three matches you should not miss:
Remo Stars vs Akwa United
All focus will be in Ikene as the second-place team in Group A, Akwa United Remo Stars, plays at the Remo Stars Stadium.
The contest is a key game as both clubs seek qualification for the Super Six, with only two points separating both sides.
In the second stanza, the Remo Stars are unbeaten in six games and are looking to extend that streak to seven games with a victory over Akwa United, which will move them up to 27 points and into the top three, where they hope results will slow down Plateau and Enyimba in the battle for the super-six.
Kwara United vs Plateau United
This clash is the battle for relegation survival, for Kwara United, as the club is four points behind the bottom team, the El-Kanemi Warriors, while Plateau United will be searching for a slot in the Super Six.
Kwara United will be at their adopted home ground, Akure Township Stadium, to host Plateau United. For Kwara United to remain in the top flight, this match is a must win for them.
The Harmony Boys have not won a game in the last five games, recording four losses and a draw, while Plateau United have managed to record two wins, two losses, and a draw to sit on the fourth position on the log.
Bayelsa vs Sunshine Stars
In Group B, all attention will be on Yenogoa, as Bayelsa United will be hosting Sunshine Stars at the Samson Siasia Stadium.
The game is relegation survival for the newly promoted Bayelsa to maintain their status in the top flight while Sunshine Stars are fighting to make the Super Six.
In other centers, Gombe United will host the league leaders, Bendel Insurance, while Lobi Stars will play host to Niger Tornadoes.
