Adesanya come to daddy: Alex Pereira calls out Nigerian star after winning UFC Light heavyweight title
Alex Pereira has triumphed in a UFC championship at Madison Square Garden for the second bout in a year.
At 4:08 of the second round on Sunday, November 12, in the main event of UFC 295, Pereira defeated Jiri Prochazka with a quick left uppercut and some ground and pound to win the light heavyweight title.
At UFC 281 in 2022, Pereira defeated Israel Adesanya in the last round of their middleweight championship match.
He went to light heavyweight after losing the title to Adesanya in a rematch at UFC 287 in Miami, Florida.
Despite not having to lose as much weight, he seemed more at ease as a light heavyweight and still possessed great strength.
Prochazka began the closing sequence with a right hand that stung Pereira and moved him back to the cage.
Referee Marc Godard was forced to wave off after Pereira's left uppercut finished Prochazka.
He’s the eighth fighter to win championships in two weight classes in the UFC, following Randy Couture, B.J. Penn, Conor McGregor, Daniel Cormier, Georges St-Pierre, Amanda Nunes, and Henry Cejudo.

Alex Pereira calls out Israel Adesanya
After controversially stopping Jiri Prochazka, the former middleweight champion used his post-fight microphone time to criticize his longtime opponent New Zealand professional Mixed Martial Artist (MMA) of Nigerian descent Isreal Adesanya.
He said, 'Adesanya come to daddy'
Adesanya after losing to Sean Strickland stated that he will be out for a while.
Adesanya and Pereira are tied 1-1 in the UFC and a third fight will be to settle scores.
