AFCON 2023: 'If we can reach the final' - Moses Simon reveals Super Eagles' ambition

Nigeria is on a solid trajectory in the 2023 AFCON, securing their spot in the last 16 following a critical 1-0 victory over Ivory Coast, thanks to William Troost-Ekong's decisive 55th-minute goal. 

With eleven appearances in the competition, Simon stands out as a veteran force in the Nigerian squad, though he currently ranks behind Samuel Chukwueze of AC Milan in the right winger position under manager Jose Peseiro.

The journey to the final won't be easy, as formidable opponents like Senegal, Morocco, and a surprisingly strong Cape Verde team stand in their way. 

However, Simon's team-focused approach shines through as reported by Allnigeriasoccer. "Of course it makes me feel good. I'm really happy for the team, I am happy for the group. 

"The important thing is we work together," he expressed post-match. His personal aim? "My target is to work and see if we can reach the final."
