AFCON 2023: Ola Aina reveals the latest “ADDICTION” in the Super Eagles squad ahead of Round of 16 tie

The Super Eagles of Nigeria, led by Jose Peseiro, have secured a spot in the Round of 16 at AFCON 2023, displaying an undefeated performance in the group stage.

However, the focus seems to extend beyond the football pitch as one of the shinning stars in Ivory Coast, Ola Aina, jockingly expressed concern over what he calls an "obsession” within the squad.

In a series of Snapchat posts, Aina showcased his teammates, including Ademola Lookman, Joe Aribo, and Calvin Bassey, engrossed in their PlayStation 5 gaming consoles at the team hotel in Ivory Coast.

The Super Eagles players have been unwinding having secured qualification to the next round of the tournament in Ivory Coast.

Despite securing their place in the knockout stage, the Super Eagles have faced criticism for their performances at AFCON 2023.

While the team's qualification is a cause for joy, there are still worries about their form and readiness to compete at the highest level, owing to Super Eagles’ lackluster finishing in front of goal.

Nigerians, known for their passionate support, are eagerly anticipating the AFCON Round of 16 draw to discover the next hurdle for the Super Eagles.

The hope remains  that Jose Peseiro's men will rise to the occasion amid concerns raised by their less-than-convincing performances so far, as the Super Eagles continue their quest for a fourth African title.
