Nigerian Afrobeat artist David ‘Davido’ Adeleke was the star act as the Professional Footballers' Association awarded the best performers from the 2022/23 season of English football.
Davido thrills award winners at PFA awards ceremony
The Nigerian crooner, who also performed at the closing ceremony of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, continued to gain international repute after being selected to perform at the PFA award ceremony at the Lowry Theatre in Manchester, England.
Davido performed for English football’s biggest dignitaries, including award winners on the night like Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, and Chelsea’s Lauren James.

The DMW label chief’s appearances on one of the biggest stages of English football continues to show the penetration of Afrobeats into mainstream markets abroad, and Nigerians all over social media platform X were left in raptures at the performance from “OBO.”
