Agba Baller lands in Saudi Arabia: African champion Asisat Oshoala completes Al Hilal transfer
African champion and Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala has officially completed her transfer to Saudi Arabia, joining Al Hilal’s women’s team on a two-year contract.
The Nigerian legend flew into Saudi Arabia to finalise the move after a successful year and a half with NWSL side Bay FC.
Al Hilal confirmed the signing on Tuesday with a concise announcement on their website and social media channels, stating, “The Nigerian star Oshoala is a Hilal player until 2027.”
Bay FC also acknowledged the transfer, expressing gratitude for Oshoala’s contributions: “Bay FC and Saudi Arabia club Al-Hilal have agreed to terms on a transfer for Asisat Oshoala. Thank you for everything you've given to this club.”
Oshoala’s arrival at Al Hilal marks another significant chapter in her illustrious career as one of Africa’s top female footballers and a vital figure for the Super Falcons.
The 30-year-old joined the NWSL outfit in February last year but struggled to replicate her Barcelona form, only managing 38 appearances, in which she scored eight goals, before joining the Blue Waves.

Her move highlights the growing visibility and investment in women’s football in Saudi Arabia, as the league continues to attract international stars.
Oshoala will join her compatriots Ashleigh Plumptre (Al Ittihad) and Rita Chilwelu (Al-Riyadh) and Nigerian women stars plying their trade in the Gulf, as the Saudi League continues to expand its investment in the men's and women's games.
