Babangida and Ajax
Babangida joined Ajax in 1996 for €5 million and had a successful first two seasons.
He helped Ajax win the Eredivisie title in 1997 and 1998 and contributed to their European campaign in the Champions League.
However, his fortunes declined towards the end of 1998, and he saw less playing time in the following seasons before Ajax loaned him to Gençlerbirliği.
