Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois: Nigerian boxer explains sparring knockdown

Before their fight at Wembley Stadium on September 21, Anthony Joshua disclosed the truth about the epic sparring session he had against Daniel Dubois.

After their well-publicized sparring session in 2016, it has been suggested that Dubois, who was only eighteen at the time, almost knocked out Joshua, the two-time unified heavyweight champion.

It's not surprising that this subject takes center stage in conversation again, given the approaching fight.

Anthony Fowler, a former professional boxer, testified that he saw the spar and that it was simply a regular spar.

Dubois could have punched Joshua again and put him to sleep, but he too much respect for him to do so according to Fowler.

AJ recounted the event in an interview with Sky Sports, stating Dubois gave him a decent shot.

He went on to say that he had no idea where the story of someone shutting off his lights originated.

Joshua claims that although Dubois hit him with a good shot, he was not injured.

Both Dubois and Joshua are riding high from their respective career comebacks going into this fight.

Dubois has bounced back from a disappointing performance against Oleksandr Usyk with consecutive stoppage victories over Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic.

Joshua, meanwhile, enters the match having won four straight, most recently a devastating knockout of former UFC champion Francis Ngannou.

On September 21, Joshua and Dubois will square battle inside the storied Wembley Stadium to finally settle the score once and for all.
