Antony’s ex Gabriela Cavallin issues statement following Man Utd’s announcement
Police in Manchester and Sao Paulo are currently looking into the £85 million winger, who was recently dropped from the Brazil national squad for their World Cup qualifying matches.
Manchester United also released a statement saying the Brazilian has been dropped from the squad until further notice.
Moments after the statement, Antony’s ex Gabriela Cavallin also shared a statement on social media through her lawyer.
Gabriela statement
A few hours following Manchester United's announcement of Antony's indefinite suspension, the 22-year-old DJ and influencer published a statement from her attorneys on her Instagram stories.
It read as reported by the Sun, "Gabriela Cavallin's defence, in view of the facts and evidence that became public knowledge on this date, regarding the repeated episodes of aggression suffered by her, informs that she trusts in the serious and competent investigation of the Civil Police of Sao Paulo, and equally of the Police of Manchester/UK, and hopes that, once completed, the aggressor will be prosecuted and punished for the crimes he committed."
According to reports, Antony has been given a leave of absence that is indefinite but a club insider insists he has not been suspended and will continue to get his full salary while away from Old Trafford.
They think the action demonstrates how seriously the club is treating the accusations, and they will keep an eye on the situation.
Meanwhile, in a fresh statement issued by the club, Antony categorically denies all accusations made against him and promises to vindicate his name.
