Madueke has been identified as a potential addition to bolster Arsenal’s frontline as manager Mikel Arteta seeks attacking reinforcements ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The North London side is believed to have agreed personal terms with the England international and submitted a formal bid to Chelsea.

However, the potential transfer has not been well-received by everyone.

On Wednesday, an Arsenal fan using the alias Blaze Fifty created a #NOTOMADUEKE petition on Change.org, voicing frustration with what he describes as another underwhelming signing.

The petition has quickly gained traction, with over 2,000 signatures as of Friday morning.

“Arsenal fans deserve better. We are so close to success and instead of capitalising on the squad we have, it seems we are moving two steps back just like in the past three transfer windows,” the petition reads.

The user also aimed the club’s reported interest in Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres, urging the board to "show some ambition" and "repay the fans the same way we’ve backed the club for the past two decades."

Club insiders told The Mirror that Arsenal has thoroughly scouted Madueke and spoken to those who have worked closely with him at Chelsea.

Madueke is currently part of Chelsea’s squad for the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, where he could feature in Sunday’s final against Paris Saint-Germain.
