Arsenal fans destroy Super Eagles Wilfred Ndidi after shocking red card decision

Arsenal fans are still angry about referee Chris Kavanagh’s decision to send off Declan Rice in the draw against Brighton at the Emirates and have referenced an instance in which Leicester City’s midfielder Wilfred Ndidi committed a similar offence. 

Arsenal's blistering opening spell finally yielded a breakthrough when Bukayo Saka capitalised on a defensive blunder, teed up Kai Havertz for a beautifully weighted lob that left Bart Verbruggen stranded. 

The Gunners were in total control as the first half drew to a close, but their ascendancy was abruptly halted when Declan Rice's dismissal for ‘delaying restart’ shifted the balance of power.

Brighton sensed an opportunity and levelled through Joao Pedro's well-timed strike just before the hour mark. From then on, the visitors assumed control, and Arsenal's previously impeccable home record was blemished.

By the letter of the law, the referee was right to have shown Rice a second yellow card, but as Bukayo Saka and Mikel Arteta stressed in their respective post-match press conferences, the incident is not one that gets penalised consistently.
