The 22-year-old highly-rated versatile defender has signed a five-year-deal at the Emirates and provides Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta with even more depth and extra quality across the back line.
Timber said he had been an Arsenal fan as a child, influenced by his brothers.
“They were always Arsenal fans, and I just loved seeing Arsenal play. They had big players, the way they played, the style. I just love the club … I liked watching Robin van Persie of course, and Thierry Henry. They were my favourite players.”
Manchester United were also interested in the Netherlands international but ultimately failed to strike a deal for him last summer and now Arsenal have swooped to make a crucial signing for the present and future.
