Arsenal are keen to move swiftly and sign Vitor Roque ahead of London rivals Chelsea.

The highly rated South American forward has been linked with a number of clubs, and the Blues were said to be leading the race.

However, the financial situation brewing at Stamford Bridge would allow Arsenal to go ahead and hijack the transfer.

Outside England, Roque had been linked with Barcelona, but the Catalans are dealing with their own financial woes. Roque is valued at £35–40 million by Athletico Paranaense.

Chelsea, who were favorites to sign the forward, are looking at ways to maneuver out of the Financial Fair Play (FFP) situation. To achieve that, they could offload a few of their key assets.

With Chelsea now uncertain about their ability to meet the price demand for Roque, Arsenal remains the leading club in the race to sign the Brazilian.

Victor Osimhen

Meanwhile, Manchester United have stepped up their pursuit of Nigerian and Napoli forward Victor Osimhen.

Reports indicate United officials attended the Champions League match between AC Milan and Napoli to watch the Super Eagle in action.

The Red Devils are in the market for a prolific goal scorer who would lead their line next season.

In a temporary move, they signed Wout Weghorst, who arrived from Burnley on loan after Cristiano Ronaldo left Old Trafford.

The Dutch forward is expected to return to his club, which has already earned promotion to the Premier League, at the end of the season, making the need to sign a center-forward even a bigger priority for United.

With his current form, Osimhen has attracted interest mainly from English clubs and has been linked with United for some time now.

The 24-year-old has scored 26 goals in 31 matches as his season with Napoli continues to turn out to be phenomenal.
