Artur Beterbiev defeats Dmitry Bivol, crowned undisputed light-heavyweight champion

Artur Beterbiev became the world's undisputed light-heavyweight champion after defeating Dmitry Bivol in a contentious majority decision.

The Russians put on what was possibly the fight of the year in Saudi Arabia, but Beterbiev was declared the victor by the judges, who recorded scorecards of 114-114, 115-113, and 116-112.

There will be a lot of fallout since the scorecards most likely understated how close the bout was.

Beterbiev added Bivol's WBA belt to his WBC, WBO, IBF, and Ring Magazine belts.

It was the first time he fought the full distance for the first time in 21 professional fights after scoring 20 stoppages in his prior bouts.
