Aruna Quadri: Nigerian legend zooms to Round 3 of WTT Star Contender Doha

Nigerian Table Tennis legend Aruna Quadri has made history in Doha, Qatar.

On Thursday, January 9, 2025, Quadri recorded a historic victory at the World Table Tennis Star Contender in Doha, Qatar.

Quadri recorded a victory against British champion Liam Pitchford in a thrilling event.

At the match that took place in Table 1 of the Lusail Sports Arena, Quadri recorded his first victory of the tournament.

Pitchford took the first set 12-10 but Quadri responded to take the second set 9-11.

The third set and fourth sets came down to the wire but Quadri was victorious with a 9-11 score line.

This means Quadri won three sets to one against Pitchford.

He also advances to round three of the competition flying the Nigerian flag.
