Asisat Oshoala: Super Falcons star scores as Bay FC loses to San Diego Wave
San Diego Wave FC defeated Bay FC 2-1 at Snapdragon Stadium early on Sunday, April 28, 2024.
In the thirteenth minute, midfielder Makenzy Doniak, making her first start of the 2024 season, opened the score for the Wave.
After Bay defender Kayla Sharples found a cross in the area to open the second half, the team launched an offensive. In the 48th minute, Sharples' header struck the crossbar and landed right at the feet of Asisat Oshoala, the attacker, who simply converted the ball to tie the score.
Midfielder Savannah McCaskill found the ball in the middle of the field in the 78th minute and passed it wide to Elyse Bennett, a second-half substitute.
Jaedyn Shaw scored her first goal of the season and sealed the win at home after the forward made a perfect feed to her.

Oshoala continues to settle down with Bay FC in the NWSL following her move from Barcelona.
She featured for 79 minutes before being substituted for Princess Dankwa Marfo.
Oshoala returns to action with Bay FC when they take on the Portland Thorns in their next NWSL fixture scheduled for Thursday, May 2, 2024.
