Onana signs long-term contract with Villa
The 22-year-old has penned a long-term contract with Villa. In a club statement, Aston Villa expressed their delight at securing Onana's services.
“Aston Villa is delighted to announce the signing of Amadou Onana from Everton,” the statement read.
The club highlighted the midfielder's strengths, stating: “Onana is a deep-lying midfielder who excels at breaking up play and winning back possession. The 22-year-old also brings significant international experience to the club, having represented Belgium at UEFA Euro 2024.”
Before his move to Everton, Onana honed his craft at Hamburger SV in Germany and LOSC Lille in France. At Everton, he quickly established himself as a key player, making over 70 appearances and scoring three goals in his final season.
Onana's arrival is expected to strengthen Villa's midfield as they aim to build on their recent progress under manager Unai Emery.
