Bailly Back in La Liga: Former Manchester United Defender Signs with Villarreal

 This marks a significant return to the La Liga side, where Bailly previously played before moving to Manchester United.

Bailly's return to Villarreal is a homecoming of sorts, as he previously played for the Yellow Submarine in the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons. 

During his first stint at Villarreal, Bailly established himself as a formidable defender under the management of Marcelino García Toral. 

His performances were notably impressive, helping the team reach the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League and securing a fourth-place finish in La Liga in the 2015/16 season. 

This successful period at Villarreal initially caught the eye of Manchester United, leading to his transfer to the Premier League in 2016.

After leaving Manchester United, Bailly had a brief loan spell at Olympique Marseille and then joined Turkish side Besiktas last summer. 

However, his time in Turkey was short-lived, marred by injuries and incompatibilities, leading to the termination of his contract. Now, rejoining Villarreal, Bailly is set to bolster the club's defensive line.

The club is currently positioned in the middle of the La Liga table and his addition is expected to strengthen their defense. Villarreal has signed him on a deal until June 2025, and it's anticipated that he will play a crucial role in the team's ambitions for the rest of the season.
