The Basketball Africa League's (BAL) Nile Conference kicked off on Saturday night at BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda.

Former NBA Academy Africa student-athlete Jean-Jacques Boissy scored 28 points, including 24 from beyond the arc, pulled down seven rebounds, and grabbing three steals as Al Ahli Tripoli of Libya defeated Made By Basketball MBB of South Africa 87-77.

Al Ahli outscored MBB 51-37, including grabbing 21 offensive rebounds, thanks to the combined 30 points and 8 rebounds of Jaylen Adams and Naseim Badrush.

Teafale Lenard Jr. got 20 points and six rebounds, Robinson Opong added 15 points, and Pieter Prinsloo finished with six points and five rebounds for MBB.

For MBB, Pieter Prinsloo finished with six points and five rebounds, Robinson Opong contributed 15 points, while Teafale Lenard Jr. scored 20 points and pulled down six rebounds.

APR defeats Thunder

APR of Rwanda defeated Nairobi City Thunder of Kenya 92-63 in the second match.

With the team hitting 52.3 percent from the field, Aliou Diara finished with 21 points, 12 rebounds, six blocks, and four steals.

Chasson Randle, a former NBA player, scored 20 points for APR and scored 28 points on fast breaks.

On Sunday, MBB plays APR and Nairobi City Thunder plays Al Ahli Tripoli as the Nile Conference continues.
