BAL: Cape Town Tigers beat Petro de Luanda for 1st win of the season
Last night at the packed SunBet Arena in Pretoria, South Africa's Cape Town Tigers defeated Angola's Petro de Luanda 84-78 thanks to decisive three-pointers from Dylan Whitbread, 17 points from Samkelo Cele, and 20 points and 11 rebounds from Billy Preston.
The Tigers' victory marked their first-ever triumph in the Kalahari Conference and returned them to the running for a third straight trip to the Basketball Africa League (BAL) Playoffs and Finals, which are scheduled to take place in late May at BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda.
Yannick Moreira, who finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds, paced Petro de Luanda.

Childe Dundao contributed 10 points and three steals, and Petro will now have to wait and see what happens in this evening's last Kalahari Conference game between the Tigers and FUS Rabat, the conference leaders from Morocco.
The Tigers take play FUS de Rabat today at 7 p.m. CAT on the last day of the Kalahari Conference.
Fans will be treated to a pregame entertainment including rappers Venom, Shishiliza, and Ch'cco. At halftime, South African artist Cassper Nyovest is scheduled to perform.
