Baller of the Week: Victor Osimhen dethrones Super Eagles teammate Lookman

Victor Osimhen has claimed the title of Baller of the Week, succeeding his Super Eagles colleague Ademola Lookman thanks to his outstanding performances for Galatasaray. 

Osimhen's recent exploits on the pitch have solidified his status as a key player in the Naija Stars Abroad lineup with his remarkable scoring ability.

Lookman, who had been recognised as Baller of the Week for two consecutive weeks, previously delivered an exceptional performance for Atalanta against Napoli, where he scored two goals in a stunning 3-0 victory. 

His contributions were pivotal in halting Napoli's unbeaten run and propelled Atalanta to second place in Serie A. 

Lookman's impressive form this season has seen him net six goals and provide four assists, making him a strong contender for accolades such as the CAF Player of the Year.

However, Osimhen's recent performances have taken centre stage. In a thrilling match against Samsunspor, he scored twice, marking his second brace in just a few days after a standout display against Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League. 

His ability to find the back of the net consistently has been instrumental in Galatasaray's success, further enhancing his reputation as one of the top strikers in Europe.

Despite Lookman's remarkable achievements, including his contributions to Atalanta's impressive season, Osimhen's recent form and impactful goals have earned him the recognition as Baller of the Week.
