Barcelona legend rejects Saudi Arabia millions to reunite with Lionel Messi

Two Barcelona legends are set to be reunited at Major League Soccer, MLS, Inter Miami this summer.

Sergio Busquets and Lionel Messi will play together again in the same team after the club Inter Miami announced the arrival of the former Champions League winner.

Inter took to their social media account to announce Busquets' arrival through a video on their Twitter account on Friday.

According to a post from the reliable Fabrizio Romano, Busquets has completed his move to Inter Miami as a free agent.

The 34-year-old reportedly rejected a move to Saudi Arabia where he would have made more money in favour of a sensational reunion with former teammate Messi.

Per Romano, the deal to bring Busquets over to the MLS has been agreed upon and sealed as the Spain international wanted to experience the MLS.

The transfer will see Busquets reunite with Messi with whom he spent over six successful years at Camp Nou and will be looking to recreate some of those successes when they link up at David Beckham’s Inter Miami.

Busquets ended his Barcelona career on a high when he captained the Catalans to another LaLiga title last season.

The talented defensive midfielder announced his departure before the final games of the season, becoming the latest Barcelona great to call it quits at the club.

He confirmed his exit through an emotional video, having represented the club for 719 matches, the third-most appearances in the club’s history.
