Barcelona president Joan Laporta has recently provided insight into the future of loaned players Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo as the summer transfer window approaches.
While Laporta expresses confidence that both players will stay at Barcelona, financial limitations may prevent the club from securing permanent deals.
Laporta's Optimism Amid Constraints
In a recent interview with Mundo Deportivo, Laporta revealed his positive outlook on the situation, stating, "I think they will continue. I hope that Atletico de Madrid will not put any objection to Joao Felix continuing with us and I think that City will not object either."
He also mentioned the involvement of agent Jorge Mendes in negotiations, emphasizing the club's intention to keep the players. However, the final decision hinges on financial considerations.
Extension Over Permanence
While Barcelona aims for permanent signings, Laporta hinted that the most viable option could be extending the current loan deals.
He explained, "What I can't tell you now, because it will depend a lot on the amounts, is whether we are going to sign them or extend the loan. It will surely be an extension of the transfer, already setting a price."
