The former Bayern Munich striker has played in Spain for two seasons, and his time there appears to be nearing its conclusion.

Since his move to Nou Camp, Lewandowski has been nothing short of productive, tallying 34 goals and nine assists in 49 outings.

However, the status of officiating in Spain's top division, though, has the Polish international quite dissatisfied.

Lewandowski takes aim at LaLiga referees

Lewandowski has been left in disappointment since moving to LaLiga and gave a review about the officiating of the referees.

The 35-year-old said, as reported by the Sun, “LaLiga is not attractive and attacking enough.

"Referees are killing the league. I didn't expect Spanish league teams to be this reluctant to play football."

Lewandowski might get into trouble with Spanish soccer officials as a result of his recent statements.

Last season, LaLiga players started making harsh remarks about the referees and their ways of officiating.

Valencia's captain Jose Gaya is now serving a four-match suspension after criticising Jorge Figueroa for not awarding them a penalty in their 2-1 loss to Osasuna last season.

He said, “It’s what we’ve been dealing with all season, [VAR] should have advised him about a clear penalty, as it keeps happening to us this year. The referee saw it and well, he didn’t want to call it.”

Sergio Canales, a former player for Real Madrid, was also given a four-game suspension after saying that his 13-second dismissal during Real Betis' match against Atletico Madrid last year was planned.

Lewandowski will probably also receive a four-match suspension if LaLiga executives adhere to their new rules.
