While Manchester City and their neighbours Manchester United will be busy with the Emirates FA Cup in England, it is a fight for supremacy in the domestic leagues elsewhere.

In the NPFL, Group A of the abridged season will witness another blockbuster game as the race for the super six enters its crucial stage.

Last weekend, at the city of Ikenne, Remo Stars battled leaders Bendel Insurance to a share of the spoils.

The Stars were denied by their visitors who came from behind to maintain their unbeaten run in in the football league this.

This weekend, Remo are involved again in the biggest game of the week in the Football League as they are guest to Enyimba in Aba.

Second-placed Enyimba are four points above Remo who sit fifth on the table and will be looking to pull further away from the Sky Blues by keeping all three points in Aba.

Barcelona vs Atletic Madrid

Another blockbuster battle this weekend is in the Spanish LaLiga where leaders Barcelona host Atletico Madrid at the Spotify Camp Nou.

Barcelona are comfortable leaders at the top with a whopping 11 points separating them and second-placed Real Madrid, with Atleti a further two points behind.

However, the game between Xavi Hernandez and his Atletico counterpart, Diego Simeone, is a special one given what happened the last time.

The Catalans are the last team to deny Simeone’s warriors all three points following a narrow 1-0 defeat in the reverse fixture with Ousmane Dembele the hero.

Therefore, heading into the particular game this Sunday, the visitors will be all out for revenge as they look to stop the LaLiga leaders on their stride.

Since that defeat on matchday 16, Atleti have gone on a run of 13 unbeaten matches and would want to extend that streak come this Sunday.

Juventus vs Napoli

It does seem Christmas has come early for the Old Lady after their 15-point deduction for financial malfeasance was overturned.

Juventus, who are now third on the table are rejuvenated and renewed, welcome runaway leaders SSC Napoli to Turin this weekend.

Napoli are wounded after the painful defeat to another Serie A giants AC Milan in the quarterfinal of the Champions League in midweek and will be looking to make amends when they face Juventus.

Victor Osimhen has been Napoli's main man this season in the Serie A.

Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen netted a consolation and historic goal for the leaders against Milan. While it was not enough to see them through to the semifinals, it should be enough to see the Serie A top scorer arrive in Turin in a confident mood as he looks to add to his Serie A tally.
