Bayern Munich superstar Harry Kane breaks Sancho and Lewandowski Bundesliga records
Bayern Munich star Harry Kane continues his impressive start to life in the Bundesliga, smashing two new records with his latest league goal for the club in a hard-fought game after the international break.
Kane strikes to sink Cologne
The former Tottenham captain has been in superb form for the Bavarians since a record-breaking transfer from England in the summer and put Cologne to the sword with his latest exploits in the Bundesliga.
Kane scored Bayern Munich’s only goal in their 1-0 win at Cologne with a timely finish to give the reigning Bundesliga champions all three points and take them to the top of the league’s table.
The Englishman’s strike was his 18th of the Bundesliga season so far, after just 12 matches, helping Kane to two new Bundesliga records.
Kane breaks Sancho and Lewandowski records
Kane’s 18th goal of the season meant that he broke current Manchester United star, Jadon Sancho’s record to become the highest goal-scoring Englishman in a single season of the Bundesliga, despite having played only 12 matches.
Sancho previously held the record alongside Liverpool legend Kevin Keegan as both players had scored 17 goals in their best seasons playing with clubs in Germany, Sancho with Borussia Dortmund and Keegan with Hamburg.
