During his pre-match press conference, Chelle praised Nwabali's performance against Rwanda, despite the goalkeeper almost receiving a red card, stating,

"You know if your coach asks you to have a warrior set of mind, so I am happy about his [Nwabali’s] game two days ago. He had a great game, and I want him to be like that tomorrow."

Chelle further elaborated, "He played a great game, and his state of mind was perfect. For me, he needs to continue that,t and I ask that from all my players."

The Super Eagles boss also stressed the collective mindset needed, saying, "We need to approach this game with the same focus and determination we showed against Rwanda."

This match is critical for Nigeria, who trail South Africa by seven points in Group C, making a positive result essential to keep their qualification hopes alive.
