Bidco United head coach Anthony Akhulia has slammed the standards of officiating after his side were frustrated to a 0-0 draw by defending league champions Gor Mahia at the Kasarani Stadium on Saturday.

Bidco were disciplined without the ball and set up to play on the counter-attack, with Sharrif Musa and Chris Opondo in particular, looking lively for good stages of the match, giving the Gor Mahia full-backs Paul Ochuoga and Geoffrey Ochieng’ all sorts of problems.

Although a draw was a fair result considering the even nature of the match, Akhulia aimed a dig at the officials for the match, saying they denied his side a couple of penalties which would have given them an edge.

“I think we deserved to win but we didn’t score goals,” he said. “ We didn’t win, we’ve shared a point each,” he added.

“But it was an even match, a balanced match but there were incidents where the referee denied us a penalty and I believe if it had happened to Gor Mahia’s side, they would have been given, but it was a fair match.”

Akhulia was also quick to blast his charges’ profligacy, saying they need to learn to burry the chances they get.

“We are really creating if you look at our last two matches against Gor Mahia and Murang’a Seal. I think we are a dangerous team in the second half but not banging goals," he added.

“It is making me worried but we will work on it to understand where we can get the touch to score then see if we can get goals in the next match.”

The result now means Bidco United are fifth on 11 points, eight adrift of leaders Posta Rangers, after eight matches played, winning two, drawing five and losing just one.

They have found the back of the net seven times, but conceded five.
