In order to get ready for their pivotal Africa Cup of Nations Matchday 4 qualifier against Sudan, the Ghanaian Black Stars left their home field on Sunday and traveled to Libya.

One of the shocking outcomes of the round was Ghana's 0-0 draw with Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday.

The Black Stars dominated the match but were unable to win for the first time in the qualifications, as they are now third in Group F with two points.

Ghana follows Nigeria to Libya

The team has now left for Benina, Libya, where they will play Sudan.

The Black Stars' departure to Libya comes after their West African rivals the Super Eagles of Nigeria embarked on a similar trip.

A day after Ghana were held at home against Sudan, the Nigerians were able to record a narrow 1-0 against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya.

The Super Eagles traveling to Libya for the second leg is the expected situation.

However, Ghana are traveling to play Sudan in Libya because the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) stated they cannot play at home soil with a civil war raging in the northeast African country.

Ghana needs to win against Sudan in Libya in order to improve their prospects of qualifying for the AFCON competition in Morocco the following year.

Nigeria on the other hand are top of group D with Gernot Rohr's Benin Republic in second place.
