Mane resumes training after three months out injured

Mane has been on the sidelines for three months after an injury to his right leg against Werder Bremen that ruled him out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, but he looks set to finally make a return to the pitch very soon after he was pictured in Bayern Munich’s first team training.

In a short clip on Bayern Munich’s Twitter page, Mane can be seen joining a training session and also describes being on the pitch as “fantastic”.

What was initially believed to be only a minor injury to his shin eventually developed into a lengthy layoff for Mane, and it is easy to see why he is overjoyed to be back on the pitch, ready to give his best for Bayern who he joined in the summer of 2022 after many successful years with Liverpool.

Bayern get Mane back ahead of crucial fixtures

Bayern will welcome news of Mane’s return as they have stagnated in recent weeks without him, drawing three straight games and potentially dropping off their perch at the top of the Bundesliga table.

He helped their cause before his unfortunate injury with 11 goals and four assists in 21 starts for Bayern.

The Bavarians will need all the help they can get as they get ready for a run of games which includes fixtures against fellow title contenders Union Berlin and Borussia Dortmund, as well as the return leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie against Paris Saint-Germain.

If all goes according to plan, Mane could be ready in time for Bayern’s clash with Union Berlin which is slated for the 26th of February, which is a week from today.
