Bright Super Eagles defender nets third goal of the season in Europe

The Super Eagles defender helped his Turkish giants Fenerbahce to bounce back to winning ways swiftly.

Nigerian defender Bright Osayi-Samuel was the star of the show as Fenerbahce bounced back to winning ways with a victory away on Saturday.

Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that the AFCON 2023 inspired his Turkish giants to a comfortable 2-0 win in the Super Lig.

Osayi-Samuel opened the scoring for the visitors in the 25th minute to set them on their way to three points after defeat in the Turkish Cup in midweek.

The 26-year-old was a constant threat down the rightflank before being substituted in the 66th minute.

He completed 85% of his passes, had one shot which produced the opening goal, and made four recoveries during his time on the pitch.

Osayi-Samuel also delivered two of his three attempted long balls as Fenerbahce dominated the contest.

Cengiz Under added a second in the 40th minute to wrap up a comfortable victory for the Istanbul giants.

The win sees Fenerbahce remain in second spot in the Turkish Super Lig as they seek to catch league leaders Galatasaray.

The defender has been in excellent form this season, scoring three goals along with one assist in 14 league appearances.

Bright was also a key figure as Nigeria reached the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations final last month, starting five of their matches.

After his latest impressive display, Osayi-Samuel will look to continue making a big impact for club and country moving forward.
