Arsenal dominated early proceedings against De Zerbi's men with Gabriel Magalhães and Bukayo Saka creating chances.

Saka broke the deadlock, cooly converting a penalty won by Gabriel Jesus to give the Gunners an early lead.

Despite Brighton's attempt to restore parity, David Raya's superb reflexes preserved their advantage until halftime.

As the second half began, Mikel Arteta's men started to probe for a second and were duly rewarded thanks to Kai Havertz.

Leandro Trossard, a second-half substitute, sealed the win with a fine finish 5 minutes from the end.

The win extended Arsenal's clean sheet streak away from home and halted Brighton's 12-game unbeaten run at home in the Premier League.

Arsenal are now top of the table, leaving Brighton's European hopes in the balance.
