Bukayo Saka: English-born Arsenal forward shares emotional childhood story

The England international has been a standout performer for both club and country in the last couple of years.

The youngster had a behind the scene photoshoot section recently where he showed off an unseen side of his personality.

Saka posed for a series of photos whilst wearing various outfits for a shoot before speaking about his childhood in an interview.

Bukayo Saka had an interview with L'Equipe about his early years after France Football took a special collection of pictures.

While discussing the importance of football to him as reported by the Sun, Saka said, "Football? It's been in my life since I was a kid. As soon as I realised this game existed, I loved it. And I still love it.

"In front of my house, there was a closed neighbourhood, something that formed a circle with the other dwellings. 

“In the middle, there was just a green field. Not really a football field, but we transformed it like that.

"Everyone came to play there. After school, we met there, the children of the neighbourhood, to play until our parents called us to have dinner and go to the shower. Then to bed. The next day, school… And we did it again!"

Saka won the FA Cup in 2020 and has already made 181 appearances for Arsenal, contributing to 41 goals and 39 assists

The 21-year-old almost helped Mikel Arteta's team clinch the Premier League title last season and has continued with his good form this new season.

He continued his impressive play over the weekend by scoring in Arsenal's 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

He continued, "I don’t want to change my values for anyone or for anything. I firmly believe in what I say and do.

"I am not perfect, of course, and I still have a lot to learn, and maturity to acquire, but it is essential to remain the boy that I am."

Saka will be in action on Monday when Arsenal face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in their second game of the season.
