Bukayo Saka: Nigerians hail Arsenal star as stunning goal sends England's Euro 2024 clash to extra time

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka is trending on social media as England forced extra time against Switzerland at the European Championships.

England was up against Switzerland in the Euro 2024 semi-finals in Germany, and they were hoping to finally show off.

The Three Lions have been deceptive throughout the tournament, and they only avoided defeat last time out against Slovakia courtesy of Jude Bellingham's last-minute heroics before Harry Kane's game-changing goal.

75 minutes into the game, Switzerland took the lead thanks to a Dan Ndoye cross that England was unable to stop, allowing Breel Embolo to score from close range.

However, Bukayo Saka tied the score for England with a spectacular drive that curled off the post and into the net from the edge of the penalty area.

With ten minutes remaining, Arsenal's best player scored to tie the score at one, and England were once again at a loss for ideas.

Saka, though, who has been England's most reliable attacker thus far in the competition, came through in a crucial moment.

It sent the game to extra time and Nigerian football fans took to social media to praise the Arsenal star who associates with his roots.
