How it happened
The visitors began brightly and Marcus Rashford hit the side netting inside the first two minutes as Erik ten Hag's men looked to put recent bad results behind them.

Burnley began to grow into the game as Luca Koleosho’s electric play lured Diogo Dalot into picking up a yellow card, Aaron Ramsey linked play well and Zeki Amdouni forced a strong save from André Onana Onana before hitting the post from another opportunity.
United looked to have broken the deadlock when Jonny Evans headed home on his first Red Devils start since March 2015, but Rasmus Højlund had leaned into James Trafford while in an offside position.
Burnley continued to play with poise and purpose but they soon found themselves behind before the break, as Evans' ball forward was met by an equally sublime volley from Bruno Fernandes.
Burnley saw a lot of possession as the second half went on but lacked an adequate cutting edge to put their chances away.
Ten Hag's men controlled the final stages to see out the victory, their first in four games.
