CAF overlooks Ugandan referees for the January Africa Cup of Nations
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) secretariat has yet again left out Ugandan match officials for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
The continental custodians named 26 referees, 30 and 12 assistant referees and Video Assistant Referee (VAR) officials, respectively.
Just recently, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) announced 24 officials to hold FIFA badges for next year, but none has made the cut.

Uganda, along with Tanzania, are the only East African nations without representation for the continental showpiece.
Kenya has the biggest number with three referees, including Peter Waweru (centre referee) and assistants Stephen Yiembe and Gilbert Cheriyot.
Burundian Pacifique Ndabihaweririmana, Djibouti's Liban Abdulrazak and Rwanda's Salima Mukansanga have made the cut.
The other CECAFA region representatives include Sudan duo Mahmood Ali Mahmood and Ibrahim Abdallah Mohamed, as well as Ethiopia's Bamlak Tessema and Somalia's Omar Abdulkadir.
