CAFAwards2023: Nigeria's Victor Osimhen touches down in Morocco

Ahead of the 2023 CAF Awards, Nigerian superstar Victor Osimhen has landed in Morocco, setting the stage for what promises to be a captivating and potentially historic night. 

Osimhen’s arrival adds an extra layer of anticipation to the event, with football fans eagerly waiting to find out the next African Footballer of the Year. 

The 24-year-old landed in Marrakech, Morocco on Monday according to a video posted by famous Nigerian photographer, Pooja Media.

Osimhen was seen alighting from his private plan, with his presence creating a buzz of anticipation among fans.

The Nigerian was in action at the weekend but could not help his champions Napoli escape defeat to Juventus in Turin. 

Following the arrival of the Napoli icon onto Moroccan soil, the spotlight is firmly fixed on the coveted CAFAwards up for grabs.

Osimhen will battle the duo of Mohamed Salah and homeboy, Achraf Hakimi, for the coveted CAF Player of the Year. 

The Nigerian is the favourite for the prize after an impressive 12 months for club and country.

He led Napoli to its first Serie A title in 33 years and topped that performance with an incredible tally of 10 goals as Nigeria booked a spot in the AFCON2023. 

These feats position the Napoli man as the frontrunner for recognition among the continent’s football elites, especially after his eighth-place finish in the 2023 Ballon d’Or.
