Canelo's staggering $150,000,000 for one fight
The champion had previously turned down offers from Saudi Arabia, insisting that money wasn't his primary motivation.
"I don't need them. If they want to work with me, it will be on my terms," Canelo stated as per Diario AS, adding,
"They want me to say 'yes' to an offer immediately, but that's not how I operate. I respect Turki, but I don't like the way he does business. I won't beg him for money, nor will I drain him like other fighters."
Ultimately, he declared he wanted $150 million for the fight. Turki agreed.
"I'll fight. $150,000,000 is the price."
Initially, the wealthy sheikh rejected the Mexican's proposal.
However, he later relented, and the two quickly became close friends.
In the end, Turki secured the fight he desired.
According to a recent list on Bloody Elbow, Alvarez’s expected payout will rank as the fifth largest in boxing history.
Sportico highlighted the magnitude of Alvarez’s haul, pointing out that this career-high payday will push his total career earnings to an astounding $800 million.
It promises to be an absolute spectacle in Las Vegas, featuring two elite fighters, with Canelo receiving one of the biggest payouts ever seen in the sport.
