CAR 0-5 Ghana: Black Stars leave Super Eagles behind to qualify for World Cup
The Black Stars of Ghana delivered a commanding 5-0 victory over the Central African Republic (CAR) in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Stade Municipal in Meknès, Morocco.
The win has propelled Ghana to securing a spot in the upcoming global tournament, set to be hosted by Canada, the USA, and Mexico from June to July 2026.
Black Stars of Ghana leave Nigeria to go to World Cup
Under the guidance of head coach Otto Addo, the Black Stars showcased a masterclass performance with an abundance of goals.
Mohammed Salisu opened the scoring in the 21st minute, assisted by Mohammed Kudus, setting the tone for Ghana’s dominance.
In the second half, Thomas Partey doubled the lead in the 52nd minute assisted by Jordan Ayew.
Ayew then turned provider again in the 69th minute, setting up Alexander Djiku for the third goal.
Three minutes later, in the 72nd minute, Ayew added the fourth with a clinical strike as Kamaldeen Sulemana sealed the rout in the 87th minute, assisted by Joseph Paintsil.
This victory extends Ghana’s unbeaten run in their Group and also proved crucial as Madagascar secured a 2-1 victory in the other group gam.
Ghana’s success comes as their rivals, the Super Eagles of Nigeria sit in third place in Group C ahead of their crucial clash against Lesotho.
