'To lose patience is to lose a battle,' they say, a catchphrase Henry Ssenyondo has adopted as the Cricket Cranes head to Namibia for the Castle Lite Series.

Ssenyondo, the highest wicket-taker during the Continental T20 Cup success in Kenya with 18 wickets, is a key member of Laurence Mahatlane's charges and says the drama during the Cup final taught the team a lot.

"What happened in Kenya happens even in top games," Ssenyondo told Pulse Sports, he added.

"But it gave us a lot to learn, and we hope to use it in Namibia; for example, at the start, we were not patient enough, but now we know we have to take it slow and be a bit more patient."

Picking up 18 wickets at a competition is no mean feat, but how was the Rwenzori Warriors bowler able to achieve the milestone?

"It was down to the experience I have amassed over the years and in the different games I have played in, with time, you can handle different situations in games," Ssenyomdo noted.

The left-arm bowler will be expected to pick up from where he stopped in Kenya when Uganda try to end the castle lite jinx in Namibia.

The Cricket Cranes have yet to win the competition in their two attempts, losing all five meetings in their first visit, while in 2022, they picked up two wins and lost three.

The Namibia Castle Lite Series will run from the 4th to the 13th of July 2023, featuring four T20i and 2 ODI matches between the two countries.
