Chelsea transfer news: Blues target 22-year-old former Barca, PSG star as next signing
Chelsea are reportedly prepared to make a move for RB Leipzig’s versatile attacker Xavi Simons, viewed as a perfect addition to signings like Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro ahead of the 2025-26 season.
Chelsea fans see Simons as an ideal addition to Maresca’s attacking lineup. The Dutch star is reportedly enthusiastic about joining the Blues, with personal terms unlikely to pose a problem.
Chelsea to make move for Xavi Simons
However, according to transfer expert Ben Jacobs, the Blues face competition from Arsenal, who are also eager to sign the 22-year-old to complement their recent acquisition of Noni Madueke from Chelsea.
Arsenal and Chelsea both have Xavi Simons on their radar, as reported last month. Leipzig haven't had any approaches or bids yet.

The Telegraph also reports that Simons prefers a move to Stamford Bridge, drawn by Chelsea’s project and the promise of Champions League football, something Arsenal can also offer.
Simons, capable of playing as a No. 10 or on either wing, offers a cost-effective opportunity at around £56 million, and an ability to score goals from midfield, as evidenced by his 11 strikes last season.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are reportedly unwilling to sell Nicolas Jackson, who has caught the eye of clubs like Manchester United and AC Milan in recent weeks.
