Latest reports in Spain indicate Chelsea may terminate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s contract opening up the possibility of a sensational return to Barcelona.

After seven successful months at Barcelona where he scored 13 goals in 24 games in all competitions, Aubameyang moved to Chelsea in September for £10million.

He has endured a torrid season at Chelsea with his arrival at the club not going to plan.

The  33-year-old striker is now completely out of favour with Graham Potter and has only played seven minutes in the Premier League since January 21.

Furthermore, it is believed the Chelsea hierarchy are deeply unimpressed by his trip to Spain to support his former club Barcelona against Real Madrid in the El Classico last weekend. 

After the game, Aubameyang was spotted in the Barcelona dressing room celebrating with his former teammates. 

Aubameyang's Chelsea contract could be terminated

According to Spanish outlet Sport, Chelsea are now contemplating terminating Aubameyang’s contract a year early.

While Aubameyang is not in direct contact with Barcelona president Joan Laporta, he has reportedly made clear his desire to return to the Catalan side and could even take a pay cut to facilitate the move.
