Clarity regarding the situation is anticipated this week, although Chelsea has not yet confirmed the severity of the midfielder's injury.

He has now been added to Mauricio Pochettino's long list of injured athletes, which also includes Reece James, Carney Chukwuemeka, Wesley Fofana, Christopher Nkunku, and Wesley Fofana.

Lavia was one of the club's biggest signings this summer, costing the Blues £58 million from Southampton.

The Belgian left Manchester City's academy and only eventually signed with the Saints in 2022.

However, because of his injury issues, life at Stamford Bridge has not gotten off to the best of starts.

Pochettino will have to rely on midfielders Conor Gallagher, Moises Caicedo, and Lesley Ugochukwu because Lavia is anticipated to miss a significant amount of time.
