He was on the bench for all 90 minutes as an unused substitute in the Super Eagles' 1-0 win against the Amavubi of Rwanda in the first qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
For the second game against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa, Uche started on the bench but came on for Besiktas midfielder Wilfred Ndidi in the 70th minute.
However, Uche could not impact the game in Bloemfontein as Nigeria settled for a 1-1 draw.
Now back in London, Crystal Palace shared pictures of Uche arriving with his luggage and then in training wearing the clubs new red and blue kit.
Clips of Uche’s debut training performance went viral on social media praising his efforts.
Uche is expected to make his debut for Crystal Palace when they take on Sunderland in a Premier League fixture scheduled for Saturday, September 13, 2025.
