Chukwueze back to the bench as Okafor stars in AC Milan victory
AC Milan enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 win over minnows Monza in Serie A, but Nigerian forward Samuel Chukwueze could only watch most of the proceedings from the bench.
AC Milan thump Monza at home
Chukwueze scored the winning goal for AC Milan in midweek as they claimed an unlikely win over Newcastle at Saint James Park in the UEFA Champions League, but was on the bench for the Rossoneri when they beat Monza.
In Chukwueze’s absence, Milan had goals from Tijjani Reijnders, Jan-Carlo Simic, and Noah Okafor to thank for their easy victory over their visitors.
However, the Super Eagles forward’s absence from the AC Milan starting line up yet again would worry fans of Nigeria, especially as the Africa Cup of Nations approaches.
Chukwueze's poor game time continues
Despite the three points, Milan would have been worried at the sight of injuries to key players, Tommaso Pobega and Okafor, who were both forced off against Monza with injuries.
Had Okafor not suffered a late injury, it is unlikely that Chukwueze would have seen any action against Monza, putting his worryingly scarce game time in context.

With the injury to Okafor, Chukwueze might see more game time, although he still has to contend with the likes of Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao for a place in the AC Milan starting line up.
