The 2021/22 FUFA Women Super League champions She Corporate will now be focused on improving their current fifth position on the 10-team log of the ongoing 2022/23 season, given that they can longer afford to defend their crown.

Corporate, who have collected 14 points from 11 games, are 19 points adrift of leaders Kampala Queens who have collected 33 points from the same number of games and need just seven points to succeed the latter.

According to the Sharks' head coach Hassan Issa finishing second is what they will strive for in the remaining seven games.

"It has been a tough season, and we hope it never returns. Unfortunately, the title is gone, but the second position is still available. We shall try to compete for it," Issa told Pulse Sports.

However, he is optimistic that it is achievable because even the team ahead of them are struggling.

"We have won and lost one of the two games we have played so far in the second round, but there is an improvement from the team's general performance when you compare the way we were playing in the first round."

Issa added: "Apart from Kampala Queens, the rest of the teams above us started the second round poorly."

"I believe it is just a matter of us composing ourselves and putting up strong performances consistently in the games left, and the second position will be ours."

On 14 points, Issa's charges are just five points below the second-placed Uganda Martyrs LWFC, who have collected 19 points and lost their previous two games to Rines SS WFC and Asubo Gafford Ladies FC.

Issa will have a chance to justify his team's intentions for the remainder of the season, given that Corporate's next league game is at home against Uganda Martyrs on Sunday, March 5th, 2023, at Makerere University Business School Grounds in Nakawa.
